Remote Access to Library Resources

This guide provides instructions for accessing library resources from off campus.

Public Westlaw Access

Patrons can access Westlaw remotely using this link.

In order to access Westlaw through the library, patrons must register an account using an email address not previously used with Westlaw.


Use is limited to 14 days after registration, and cannot exceed 20 hours total. 

What's Included?

Public Westlaw Access includes primary law (like cases, statutes, and regulations), secondary sources (including major legal treatises), and Practical Law (checklists, tool kits, and other practical guidance).

Instructions

1) Access the Patron Access trial page:

https://legal.thomsonreuters.com/en/c/remote-patron-access

2) Enter your email address

(Do not use an email that has already been registered with the OnePass System); you may need to create a new email address.

3) Enter your contact information

Fill out the form. 

4) In the Organization Type field

Select Government – State or Local (you must select "Government")

5) Skip the "Add Colleagues" page

See highlight section.

6) Click "I agree to Terms & Conditions" and click Create Profile

Create OnePass Profile and Security fields & 

Confirm your OnePass profile and click Get Started to begin searching on Westlaw!
